Bogota

Bogota, the capital of Colombia, is a lively city surrounded by the majestic Andes (2650m above sea level). The historic colonial centre, or La Candelaria district, has real charm and character. Stroll through the cobblestone streets home to the best gold museum in Latin America, displaying the largest collection of pre-Colombian art in the world and the famous Botero Art Musuem. One can also find excellent bars, boutiques, theatres and restaurants. As an optional day trip we recommend a visit to the magnificent salt cathedral of Zipaquira, 25km outside of Bogota. The Cathedral is situated some 50 metres underground and can accommodate up to 8000 people.
