Mendoza area

Mendoza is a beautiful city in the heart of Argentina’s famous wine producing region. Flat countryside predominates in the east, while to the west are the spectacular Andes Mountains. Mendoza is the perfect place to enjoy fine vintages and superb gastronomy. Approximately 80 per cent of Argentina’s fine wine comes from this region and the grape harvest is marked each year by the Vendimia festival, taking place in early March. Optional tours can be arranged, for example a visit to one of the vineyards in the area, or a full day drive into the Andes to view The America’s highest peak, the Aconcagua, 21000 ft. high. There are also many activities, which can be arranged locally including rafting (class III-IV rapids), rock climbing, fishing, rappel and horse riding.
