Out of Africa - Kenya
A classic African safari from the remote Ewaso River to the game-filled plains of the Maasai Mara and the blue waters of the Indian Ocean.
The wildly beautiful Meru National Park offers a diverse eco-system, from vast open plains to lush riverine vegetation. The lodge blends into the hillside, on the site of George Adamson’s original camp, made famous by Elsa the lioness in Born Free.
The Laikipia plateau stretches from the foothills of the Aberdares, across vast open and arid plains to the Northern Frontier District. The region nurtures exceptional wildlife but one of the great draws is the cultural diversity. This area is home to many communities including the Laikipiak Maasai and the Samburu tribes.
The magical plains of the Maasai Mara are one of the highlights of Kenya’s premier wildlife reserves. The endless grasslands are broken up by tree-lined rivers and the abundance of animals includes cheetah, lion, rhino, elephant, giraffe, buffalo and the spectacular annual wildebeest migration.
The historic Arabic Lamu Archipelago must be one of the most enchanting off the African coast. The deserted beaches are unspoilt, sailing dhows ply the waterways and Lamu old town is a maze of shops and alleyways.
