The Atlas Mountains are the greatest mountain chain in North Africa. Rising from the Atlantic near Agadir and stretching through Morocco to the Algerian border in the east, the range is some 400 miles (650kms) in length. At over 4,000 metres the highest summits match those of the Alps. Home to the Berber whose hospitality is world famous and extremely genuine, these mountains have a huge variety of scenery, mix of cultures and type of terrain.
