Aqaba

Aqaba is Jordan’s fastest growing city, and huge investment is being poured into this Red Sea port which is buzzing with the realisation of fast economic growth. The city at present has two 5* resorts, but many more are planned to open over the next few years. The diving is excellent, possibly the best to be found on the Red Sea and the weather is always superb. For those guests not wanting to spend the night under canvas in Wadi Rum, Aqaba’s hotel’s offer a plausible and comfortable solution. The beaches are not the best to be found on the Red Sea, they are quite small and narrow and the city overlooks a harbour where large ships can be seen coming and going. It is, however, a place to relax in top quality hotels before returning to Amman.
