Central China
China’s diversity stretched thousands of miles offering a range of history, scenery and tradition. The Li River, just outside of Guilin and Yangshou are scenic rural areas where agricultural life can be seen bordered by a dramatic backdrop of the towering limestone pinnacles. History is in abundance in Xian, a city with enclosed behind an ancient wall. Just outside of Xian is the incredible Tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi, who first united China in 200 BC. He was buried along with over 6000 life size Terracotta Warriors, horses and chariots to protect him as he moved into the next life. Many other tombs from the Han and Tang Dynasties are still to be excavated. Visit Chengdu’s Panda Breeding Research Institute to see the endangered creatures in the best possible environment for rearing and breeding.
