Lying on the edge of the Kalahari, Tswalu offers luxurious accommodation in two camps, Motse and Tarkuni, which can accommodate up to 16 and 12 guests respectively.

Tswalu is an incredible bush retreat lying on the edge of the Kalahari Reserve, within the largest privately owned game reserve in South Africa. Immaculately designed Legaes (Tswana for small house) provide every comfort and blend harmoniously into the surrounding wilderness.

The lodge itself is divided into two parts. The Motse (Tswana for village) comprises eight individual Legaes, two of which have been specially designed for families. Each has a private sun deck providing the perfect place to enjoy spectacular views. A Jwa Bana (children’s room with child minder) and outdoor heated swimming pool are also available.

Tarkuni sleeps parties of up to 12 and is the ideal option for larger families. All the rooms are incredibly luxurious and, with its living and dining areas, library, pool and chef it can be totally self-contained.

Tarkuni will be closed from 15 January to 1 March 2009. After the renovations Tarkuni will accommodate 10 guests in five suites. There will no longer be a guide/nanny room or a children’s room as these two rooms are being converted into the fifth suite. Children will of course still be welcome at Tarkuni.
