Personal service and excellent hospitality are the hallmarks of this intimate camp, located in a remote area of the Maasai Mara game reserve. Richard’s Camp is owner-managed and consists of just seven tent rooms.

The Maasai Mara is one of the most renowned game reserves in Africa and offers the ultimate safari experience, combining open savannas and exceptional concentrations of game with the unique traditions of the Maasai people. Just outside the game reserve, Richard’s Camp is a small and intimate, owner-managed camp where the pioneer traditions of hospitality and comfort live on.

Originally built as a family home while carrying out conservation work in the Maasai Mara, Richard’s Camp is located on the edge of a small forest, where elephant and plains’ game are regular visitors and bird life abounds. The seven individually decorated tent rooms offer authentic safari style and rarely has sleeping under canvas been made so comfortable. At the end of the day, guests can indulge themselves in an open-air Victorian bath tucked away in the forest, surrounded by flickering candles and the sounds of the bush.

Personal service and intimate hospitality, combined with outstanding game viewing opportunities, provide a genuinely memorable safari experience and, due to the camp’s unique location, guests can enjoy a variety of activities including night drives, bush picnics and guided walks.
