Pole Pole is a small eco-resort located in Tanzania’s prime marine reserve. 7 thatched bungalow suites, all with a private deck, overlook the peaceful turquoise waters of Chole Bay.
Pole Pole, meaning ‘take it easy’ in Swahili, is a small and intimate resort set on its own private beach overlooking the stunning azure waters of the Indian Ocean. The lodge comprises seven thatched wooden bungalows raised on stilts, with wide verandahs looking out to sea. The cottages are individually furnished and have en-suite bathrooms. The resort is owned and operated by a young Italian couple and focuses on providing a warm welcome, good food and a relaxed environment in which to unwind. However, guests seeking a little more activity will find some of East Africa’s best snorkelling and diving on the exquisite coral reefs of Mafia Island Marine Reserve, as well as plenty of sea and land-based excursions around the archipelago.
