Okavango Horse Safaris

Experience the magic of the Okavango Delta on horseback, allowing you to get closer to game than you possibly could by vehicle or on foot. For experienced riders only.

Kujwana Camp is situated on the Xudum River southwest of Chief’s Island. The camp accommodates a maximum of 10 guests in spacious safari tents, each with a bush-style bathroom. Explore the three main river systems in this area: the Xudum, Matsebi and the Kiri.

Moklowane Camp is situated on the Matsebi River and consists of tree houses raised two metres off the ground, giving guests the opportunity to experience sleeping safely in the open air. Ablutions are on ground level with bucket shower and flush loo behind each tree house.

Kiri Fly Camp is northeast of Kujwana Camp in the permanent water line of the delta. The camp is temporary and the site moves according to access and water levels. Deep lagoons and papyrus beds make this a good area for hippo and lechwe, as well as buffalo and other big game. The camp consists of walk-in dome tents, private ablutions and a mess tent.

• Children Welcome but must be strong and competent riders. Certificate from Pony Club or senior qualified instructor as proof of ability is required.

• Other Maximum weight is 200lbs for a novice rider and 210lbs for an advanced rider. Guests may be required to step on the scales. A special program is available for guests over this weight limit, which offers shorter rides, game drives and walks.
