Macatoo Camp

Set in the depths of Botswana’s Okavango Delta the six tented rooms of Macatoo Camp offer simple but comfortable accommodation after a day in the saddle.

Home to a kaleidoscope of wildlife, the Okavango Delta is an intriguing phenomena, with ever changing landscapes created by the seasonal flood waters flowing through from Angola.

The African Horseback Safari camp stands proudly on a palm fringed island, surrounded by endless grassy plains, punctuated with water meadows and seasonal lagoons. Bursting with life, the bush continuously shifts and transforms as you ride from island to island. The movement of the game and the dramatic seasonal changes ensure no two safaris are ever the same.

The classic Hemmingway-style camp provides you with all your creature comforts whilst allowing you to experience the wild beauty of the African bush. All 6 tents have an en-suite shower and loo. Central, there is a large furnished mess tent and are secluded with a spacious verandah and armchairs overlooking the flood plain, dotted with palm trees. Tucked away in the trees is a small pool.

For those who do not ride, or who simply have a taste for variety, vehicles are provided for day and night game drives and canoes can be taken down the river to view the game from a different perspective.
