Loldia House
Lake Naivasha, Kenya
Loldia House is situated on the lush green shores of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. With just nine rooms, it is one of Kenya’s oldest colonial farms.
Loldia House nestles under acacia and wild fig trees on the western shores of Lake Naivasha. Each morning you are woken by the calls of the lake’s resident fish eagles, and breakfast is served on the lawn where hippos have grazed throughout the night. Guests can explore the farm’s 8,000 acres on foot or horseback amongst herds of wild antelope and zebra. Warm sunny days are complemented by cosy evenings by the roaring log fire.
At the end of the day, enjoy a hosted alfresco dinner under the spreading fig trees or in the original dining room. 4 x 4 vehicles are available to take you on game drives around the surrounding area where you can see a wealth of wildlife including leopard, buffalo and hippo. Boat trips on the lake give you the opportunity to experience the huge numbers and variety of bird life. Loldia provides an excellent base from which to explore Lake Nakuru National Park which is famous for its resident pink flamingoes and healthy numbers of both black and white rhino.
