Little Governors’ Camp

Intimate in character, Little Governors’ Camp has 17 tents tucked around a large watering hole that teems with animal and bird life in the Maasai Mara.

Little Governors’ Camp is superbly located in a prime game viewing area within the world famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Getting there is an adventure itself, crossing the Mara River by boat, then walking the short distance, escorted by armed guards, beneath the canopy of the forest trees into camp. All seventeen tents have ensuite facilities and are ideally situated with fantastic views over a large watering hole teeming with animal and bird life. From each verandah, the view changes daily with visits from giraffe, elephant, lion and warthog.

Activities include game drives, guided walks, visits to the local Maasai village, hot air balloon flights (extra cost) and flying trips to Lake Victoria (extra cost). Delicious meals are prepared throughout the day, and these are served both outdoors during the day and in the dining tent in the evening. As dusk falls, the camp is lit by traditional candlelight, gas and kerosene lamps, creating a peaceful and atmospheric setting.
