Kirkman’s Kamp
Kirkman’s Kamp has spectacular views of unspoiled wilderness as far as the eye can see. The homestead serves as the recreational hub of the camp and each of the 18 cottages has a private veranda.
Overlooking the Sand River, Kirkman’s Kamp is an historic camp, which was originally built in the early 1920s. The camp was named in honour of W. Harry Kirkman, one of South Africa’s foremost conservationists, who began his illustrious career as a ranger in 1927. A colonial atmosphere of gracious style and luxury has been retained, and one steps back in time upon entering the old homestead.
The camp is situated in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, which is part of the Greater Kruger National Park.
Undoubtedly the most prestigious game park in South Africa, the Sabi Sand Game Reserve is renowned for having the best ‘big five’ game viewing in the country. Located on the southwestern corner of the Kruger National Park, there are no restricting fences, thus enabling the animals to roam freely just as nature intended.
