Jasmine House is hidden amongst the sandy lanes of Shela, an attractive Swahili fishing village with high walled Arabic houses concealing shady courtyards adrift in waves of brilliant bougainvillea. It is a traditional five bedroom Lamu house with rooftop terraces, courtyards and a garden with a cooling plunge pool. The two upper terraces provide stunning views of the Lamu channel, Manda Island and the sand dunes beyond. The chef provides a menu that reflects the subtle simplicity of the Swahili dishes, with local specialities and seafood caught daily in the Indian Ocean.
