236 Hurumzi is a beautifully restored palace which was once the home of one of the richest men in the Swahili Empire. It is ideally situated in the heart of Stone Town and provides each guest with a wondrous atmosphere and the grandeur of the past.

Emerson and Green has a total of only 17 elegant, traditionally furnished, and airy rooms. The furnishings throughout the rooms are all original Zanzibari antiques of varied origins and styles, and the suites and North, East, South or West Rooms are particularly interesting. The Tower Top Restaurant, high among the minarets, temple towers and church spires, is undoubtedly one of the most extraordinary eating venues in the world and offers a truly unique dining enviroment, whilst sipping exotic drinks as the sun disappears over the Indian Ocean is an experience that cannot be rivalled.
