Deogarh Mahal
Deogarh, India
Deogarh Mahal is a 17th century fort palace located on a hill overlooking the village of Deogarh and is situated in between Jodhpur and Udaipur. The hotel is run by the local ruling family who carefully restored this fabulous building.
Deogarh has 50 rooms and suites and has been lovingly restored so that each room and suite is individually crafted. There are two restaurants, the Chandra Mahal, or ’Moon Palace’ which offers Indian, Continental and Oriental cuisine. The other is Surya Mahal or ‘Sun Palace’ which offers A La Carte dining. Possibly the unique feature of Deogarh is the ability to get into the countryside and experience the delights of rural India. Picnics can be arranged for you, or an excursion to the local villages can be arranged by horse, if you so wish.
