The Datai is one of the most luxurious resorts in Malaysia and provides an idyllic natural retreat within the depths of a 550 million year old rainforest. Set above a secluded white sandy beach, the hotel has 109 rooms, villas and suites, all decorated with dark polished wood and crisp white linen. There are individual free-standing villas scattered throughout the jungle, and the Mandara spa is spectacular, overlooking a forest stream. The dining is excellent, and there is a fleet of boats to cruise around the local bays. The Datai also has its own pristinely kept 18 hole golf course with views out to sea.
