About me

I’ve been fortunate enough to have extensively travelled the world; the highlight being my long awaited month-long trip to Nepal - I adore the great outdoors (hiking, climbing, biking and a few adrenaline sports thrown in for good measure).

Other countries include, Australia, New Zealand (ski and summer seasons), China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, South America (worked a ski season in the Andes), India, Canada, USA (including a month in Alaska) and most of Europe (I’ve worked in Turkey/Greece, Austria, Switzerland and the Italian lakes).

I’ve indulged in 8 European ski seasons and 2 in the Southern Hemisphere (New Zealand and Chile/Argentina) and try to cram in at least 2 European ski holidays now that I’m UK bound. My specialist areas are skiing in Europe, Asia and family holidays in the Mediterranean.

I love being intrepid, skiing off-piste in waist-deep powder, snowboarding on wide-open slopes and crazy tree lines, camping, being outdoors and generally spending time with my activity-seeking daughter, Isla.

Favourite places I’ve been

France, Switzerland, Austria and Sweden – enormous ski areas/fantastic off-piste
China – amazing lime castes and wonderful cultural differences
New Zealand – hiking and biking and extreme adventure sports
Tasmania – the land that time forgot
The States: New York, LA, South Carolina and Nashville – you’ve got to love the Americans for their enthusiasm

Travel nuggets

01. Siem Riep, Cambodia – spend 2 days seeing the temples of your choice, then spend at least 1 day "getting lost" amongst some of the more unknown sites (it’s amazing what you discover)

02. St. Anton, Austria – hire an off-piste guide and head off the back to the Valluga – off-piste itinerary heaven

03. Queenstown, New Zealand – ditch the coach/car and grab a bike to see some of the most stunning scenery in the world and enjoy the hospitality of the Kiwis.

Hot picks

Verdura Resort & Spa, Sicily – an amazing resort with some superb activities. Don’t miss La Planeta winery and La Foresteria for a delicious lunch

Anassa Resort, Cyprus – service at its best

Hotel Kristiania, Lech – boutique chic
