"It's a pleasure to talk about skiing every day."
About me
I was lucky enough to spend 8 weeks a year as a child in our house in Southern Spain. This started my love for travel and languages. I went on to spend a ski season in Meribel and travel around the world when I was 18. At university, my semesters were spent saving up for my next holiday to go skiing, backpacking through Morocco or travelling through Europe; I then spent my 3rd year living in Paris and Buenos Aires.
I recently took a sabbatical and travelled through SE Asia and India for 4 months, but have come to realise my passion for Europe with its incredible history, art and architecture, not to mention food and wines! It’s also right on our doorstep, and so easy to get to! It’s a pleasure to talk about skiing and European breaks everyday; skiing is a passion for me, as well as discovering new areas in Europe and recommending places I’ve visited.
Favourite places I’ve been
Portugal – fresh fish and seafood, delicious wines, incredible beaches
Spain – tapas, colours, culture, language, fun
France – Paris, architecture, art, un kir, baguettes
Italy – food! Prosecco! Art, architecture, Italians…!
Austria – skiing, gluwein, Bad Gastein, St Anton, Arnold Schwarzenegger!
Switzerland – Zermatt, skiing, fondue, chocolate
Germany – Munich, Oktoberfest, dindle and lederhosen, the lakes in Bavaria, pretzels
Czech Republic – Prague, goulash, the cold!
Hungary – Budapest, goulash, sightseeing, thermal spas
Croatia – Rovinj, crazy food mixtures, clear, clear sea
Turkey – blue seas, great food, spas
Greece – Athens, the Parthenon, clear sea, islands, mezze

Travel nuggets
01. Never pack too much – be selective, you never end up using everything!
02. When skiing, always take sun cream and lip balm with sun protection, even with clouds your skin is at risk. Nothing more painful than a sunburnt face and lips!
03. Zermatt has the best mountain restaurants in the Alps! Try Blatten’s Mushroom or Barley Soup. Zum See has a lovely atmosphere - sit outside and cosy up with their blankets and a gluwein
My hot picks
01. Mardan Palace, Antalya, Turkey – truly the most amazing experience of 5* luxury, the restaurants are incredible, the spa is just so inviting and relaxing, and the service there is wonderful! It is just like a palace, with everything in gold and every last detail is thought of.
02. Villa Spalletti Trivelli – such a hidden gem in Rome, it’s just like private house with such attention to detail. I love the open bar in the grand sitting room, and the lovely green garden where you can enjoy your breakfast before heading into busy Rome.
03. Aquapura, Douro Valley, Portugal – I’ve not yet visited this property, but it’s at the top of my list! I love the undiscovered areas of a country like Portugal, which are so different from the Algarve that we all know so well. This area looks fascinating packed with history, culture and gastronomy.
