Major winter sports event to go ahead in Val d'Isère
Val d'Isère holds a multitude of high profile winter sports events throughout the winter season, which is just one reason for its immense popularity.
There is always something going on in the French resort, whether it is an international alpine skiing event, or a high-octane ice rallying competition.
One event that goes ahead at the end of March will definitely appeal to people who have embarked on a luxury ski holiday and tourism chiefs are eagerly counting down the days.
Altigliss will see some of the best snowboarders and skiers descend on Val d'Isère in order to compete against each other in a series of thrilling downhill races.
It is the largest competition of its kind in Europe and spectators will be treated to a number of exciting events, ranging from the Giant Slalom to the Big Air, which involves participants jumping off a huge platform after hurtling down a slope on their skis.
The tournament will run between 24th and 30th March and is expected to draw huge crowds to the French skiing village.
