See talented skiing prodigies compete in Val d'Isère

Winter sports enthusiasts staying in a luxury chalet in Val d'Isère can see some potential skiing stars of the future during the high-profile La Scara event later this year.

The competition is an internationally recognised children's race, which sees some of the most talented youngsters from across Europe compete against each other.

Having first been set up more than 30 years ago as a race for local kids to take part in, the occasion has grown so much that the format has changed drastically over the years and now attracts more than 1,000 competitors from across 22 different countries.

A number of famous skiers, including Luc Alphand, Adrien Duvillard and Jean-Baptiste Grange, have all gone on to achieve great things in the sport having won the La Scara event at the very start of their careers. This is a clear indication of the significant pedigree of the children who participate each year.

The competition takes place between 3rd and 6th April and forms part of the celebrations that mark the end of the winter season in Val d'Isère.
