KwaZulu-Natal has had 'best holiday season ever'
Bosses at the KwaZulu-Natal Tourism Authority are celebrating the best holiday season the region has ever had.
The popularity of the destination has been reiterated in recent weeks, as travel officials told Business Day that between 90 and 100 per cent of Durban's beachfront hotels were full from 24th December onwards.
Spokesperson for the KwaZulu-Natal Tourism Authority Lihle Dlamini suggested that as well as people heading from overseas to take luxury holidays in South Africa, more of the country's own citizens were also taking breaks in the various resorts in the Durban area.
Mike Jackson, Durban vice-chairman of the Federated Hospitality Association of SA told the news provider that visitors were particularly impressed with efforts to improve the beaches in the region.
KwaZulu-Natal is a popular spot thanks to its natural beauty and extensive range of wildlife parks. One particular highlight for many travellers is the Phinda Game Reserve, which attracts a huge array of creatures - and vistors - because of its diverse ecosystems.
