Headline acts confirmed for jazz festival

Organisers of the highly-anticipated Cape Town International Jazz Festival have revealed details of the headline acts that will perform at the event.

The announcement was made yesterday (24th January) in Johannesburg, where it was confirmed that Jamaican reggae band Third World will take to the stage at some point during the festival, which gets underway on 30th March.

Music lovers taking a luxury holiday in South Africa can also head to the city to see multi-instrumentalist Marcus Miller show off his talents. In the past, Miller has worked with a string of legendary acts, including Miles Davis, Michael Jackson and Aretha Franklin.

Organisers of the festival also confirmed that vocalist Patti Austin will be in attendance, as will Kevin Mahogany.

The event looks set to draw in huge crowds and further reiterates Cape Town's reputation as a cultural melting pot.

Around 34,000 people usually attend the annual two-day festival, which has grown significantly since it was first introduced in 2000.
