Head to Crete for the Rethymnon Wine Festival

Not only is Crete the largest Greek island, it is also one of the most beautiful and interesting too.

The first thing you will notice when you arrive is the stunning mountainous landscape, which gives the destination a distinctive character.

Of course, a lot of people who take a luxury holiday in Crete will find it hard to drag themselves away from the many tranquil beaches that the area is famous for.

Although it may be tempting to spend all day relaxing in the warm glow of the Mediterranean sun, it is definitely worth doing a bit of exploring.

A number of exciting events take place throughout the year, including the superb Rethymnon Wine Festival.

This year's instalment will take place between 1st and 7th July in the quaint town of Rethymnon, where visitors can sample a range of different tipples.
