Tailor made holidays: Laos is getting increasingly popular, say travel experts

People planning to take a tailor made holiday to south-east Asia should not neglect to visit Laos while they are in the region seeing the sights of Vietnam and Cambodia.

The country offers people great views and a beautifully protected ecology, while the country has many ancient festivals that people can visit all year round.

It has recently been revealed by ABTA: The Travel Association - the organisation which represents travel agencies in the United Kingdom - that the popularity of Laos and the surrounding countries is rising.

"We have seen lots of Asian countries become incredibly popular, places like Cambodia and Laos," a spokesperson for the organisation said.

In October, people can visit Laos to take part in the Boun Ok Phansa and Boat Racing Festival, when candlelit processions are held, incense is widely burnt and to end - like all good festivals - a boat race is held.
