Luxury adventure holiday: Visit Patagonia, one of the world's 'last great wildernesses'
Patagonia is "one of the world's last great wildernesses" according to a travel expert, while its views make it a great place to visit on a luxury adventure holiday.
Charles Starmer-Smith, who is also the Daily Telegraph's travel news editor and commissioning editor for its tourism section, also noted that the area is "great", in every sense of the word.
The writer says that the region of Argentina is "magical" and has some of the most beautiful panoramic views in the whole of South America.
"Over the years Patagonia has attracted all manner of dreamers, wanderers, adventurers and writers," he said.
"Despite the steady growth in tourism, it retains a mystical appeal."
The history of the area is an "exercise in eccentricity", Mr Starmer-Smith noted. It is easy to see why, one of the claims to fame that Patagonia has is the myth that Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid spent their last days there.
