Tailor made holidays: Caribbean an ideal destination for 'the romantic side of life'

The Caribbean is a popular destination for people planning tailor made holidays, according to Teletext Holidays.

Research from the holiday firm found that the Caribbean was named as the most popular place for a romantic getaway, closely followed by Italy.

John Carter, speaking on behalf of Teletext Holidays, a travel writer and presenter, said: "It's long been a destination for people who like the romantic side of life."

"My personal favourite is Barbados, which has got a wonderful English connection. It's a nice island, it's got beautiful beaches on the west coast, it's got the Atlantic on the east coast, meaning you've got two different types of holiday."

He added that people needed to be careful about when they go and not just jump at good deals that could fall near to the wet season.

"Most of the Caribbean islands now cater for a relaxing, romantic type of holiday. I feel that in a sense that they have all got it," Mr Carter added.
