Tailor made holidays: Visit Phnom Penh for a 'colourful and energetic' city
People planning to take luxury tailor made holidays to south-east Asia may like to visit Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh, as it is filled with "colour [and] energy".
That is according to Clover Stroud, a journalist and television presenter writing in the Daily Telegraph, who noted that the city shows off its colonial past while remaining traditionally Cambodian in some places.
"The capital is a tangle of broad avenues and teeming markets, where the memory of the country's past as a French colony is evident in the numerous grand colonial buildings, peering incongruously from behind lines of motorbikes," she wrote.
Ms Stroud also noted that there are many luxury hotels and restaurants in Phnom Penh, suggesting one of the best places to eat is the Restaurant Bopha.
She writes about the restaurant's "excellent Khmer food", which includes a range of delicacies and notes that there is traditional Apsara dancing most evenings.
