Tailor made holidays: People travel to Switzerland for its 'quality' and 'the experience'
Travellers planning tailor made holidays in Europe may like to visit Switzerland, as it is promoted for its "quality", according to the tourism board.
Urs Eberhard, executive vice president of markets and meetings for Switzerland Tourism, noted that they were facing difficulties at the moment in regards to the cost of a holiday to the country, but added that the "experience" it offers is worth every penny.
He noted that, despite the price being driven up by the exchange rate of the Swiss Franc, people still want to travel to Switzerland.
"It's becoming more expensive to go to Switzerland than other European countries. So we have to sell the experience, the quality," he noted.
"It's a very aspirational travel destination and [ideal for] green travel."
Hotel.info's Value for Money Index published this week has listed Switzerland in last place, out of 20 European countries. The country has fallen from 19th place earlier this year.
