Luxury family holidays: Seychelles is 'unique' as a holiday destination

Seychelles is 'unique' destination for holiday-makers

The Seychelles is "unique" in many ways, making it ideal for people planning luxury family holidays.

That is according to television presenter and journalist Andrea Catherwood, who travelled to the island nation on a luxury family holiday and wrote about her "glorious" experiences of the natural world for the Daily Mail.

"The drama of the coastline is unique. Rainforest-covered mountains give way to prehistoric rock formations smoothed by 75 million years of waves," she said.

"They rise from turquoise water teeming with exotic marine life and dazzlingly white beaches fringed by Coco de Mer palms … the islands' most famous species - they produce the world's largest seeds and are exclusive to the Seychelles."

Andrea Catherwood has been a senior reporter for both ITV News and Five News. She was one of the first reporters into the Afghani city of Mazari Sharif after it was captured from the Taliban in 2001.
