According to the Kenya Tourist Board, the area around Mombasa is particularly rich with culture and heritage, as well as offering world-class diving facilities and wildlife safaris.

According to the tourism agency, more people are discovering Kenya than ever before, with international arrivals increasing by 40 per cent in January 2011 compared to the same month a year earlier.

The first quarter as a whole saw a cumulative increase of ten per cent year-on-year in visitor numbers.
