Newlyweds looking for a place to spend their honeymoon might like to consider visiting India, which has some of the world's most fantastic and "diverse" beaches, according to the country's tourism board.

People planning luxury honeymoon holidays could explore the vast range of beaches that the Asian country has, which are causing more and more people to flock to the destination, Incredible India opined on its website.

"Thousands of sun-deprived tourists visit India because it incredibly has the most diverse varieties of beaches anywhere in the world," the tourism organisation notes.

"Placid backwaters and lagoons, bays and rough lava-rocked seas, marine estuaries with fish, crashing surf, powdery golden sand or palm fringed shores ... India has them all."

But there is more to India than its marvellous beaches; people on luxury honeymoon holidays in the destination will find the cuisine is wide-ranging and rightly famous, while the city of Delhi shows influences of thousands of years of invasions in its architecture.
