Luxury ski resorts: St Anton is 'tough to beat' for skilled skiers

Experienced skiers planning to stay in luxury ski resorts will find St Anton is home to world-class runs, it has been claimed.

Travel writer Neil English expressed his belief that the Austrian resort is not ideal for novices as it offers world-class off-piste terrain, attracting top skiers and snow boarders from around the world.

He wrote on the Daily Mail website: "The resort has an inspirational range of peaks including the mighty Valluga at nearly 10,000ft and the Schindler Spitze at more than 8,000ft.

"There is about 170 miles of intermediate skiing between the Kapall-Gampen, Rendl and Stuben sectors of the lift network, making St Anton tough to beat."

Mr English added that the local Ski and Folk Museum is "well worth a visit" as guests can learn about the history of St Anton and dine in one of the region's top restaurants, Museum.

Chalet Girl, a new film starring Bill Nighy and rising star Felicity Jones, was filmed at the resort.
