Luxury family holidays: Stay at the Alvear Palace Hotel in Argentina

Britons planning to book luxury family holidays in Argentina should stay in the famous Alvear Palace Hotel, according to an expert.

Rodolfo Milesi, managing director of business think-tank Branding Latin America, claimed Argentina has been supporting luxury travellers since tourism to the country began.

He said: "The Alvear Palace Hotel was the first five star hotel on the continent and [Argentina] has always been a recipient of European tourists since the country was founded.

"The growth in elegant boutique hotels in the past decade and the diversity on offer, from fantastic homes in the wine country to ski lodges in the Andes to eco lodges at Iguazu Falls, present a broad range of choices for the discerning traveller."

Mr Milesi added that Buenos Aires is home to delicious cuisine and shops, while holidaymakers looking for something a bit different could head to the south of the country and stay in Ushuaia to enjoy its "dramatic landscapes".
