Tailor made holidays: Rio is Brazil's 'most vibrant' city
Britons on tailor made holidays in Brazil should stay in Rio as it is the country's most vibrant city, it has been claimed.
Travel writer Charlotte Civil expressed her belief that the city is home to a wide range of places to stay, cultural landmarks and fantastic eateries.
She wrote on the Daily Express' travel website tripideas.co.uk: "Brazil's most vibrant city is filled with hotels, restaurants and beach bars.
"There are historic forts at both ends of the beach with Fort Copacabana, built in 1914, at the south and 18th-century Forte Duque de Caxias to the north, framed by Sugarloaf Mountain."
Ms Civil added that those visiting the city early next month will be able to attend the Rio Carnival, which takes place between March 4th and 8th.
Describing it as one of the world's most extravagant parties, Ms Civil revealed that the city's streets become a "riot of colour" with a wide range of floats and a striking procession.
