Tailor made holidays: Britons feel 'at home' in New Zealand

Britons planning tailor made holidays in New Zealand will feel at home in the country, according to an expert.

Gregg Anderson, general manager of western long-haul markets at Tourism New Zealand, expressed his belief that, with 230,000 UK consumers visiting the country last year, New Zealand remains a popular holiday destination for Britons.

He said: "Behind Australia, Britain is our second biggest market for overseas visitors so it is a really popular destination for Brits!

"In general, I think UK travellers feel safe in New Zealand as it's relatively small, accessible and a really easy country to travel around."

Mr Anderson added that Britons will also be able to easily adjust to the region as there is no language barrier.

Furthermore, its low crime rate will ensure that UK holidaymakers will feel safe during their stay in the country.

New Zealand is comprised of two main islands and has a population of 4.4 million.
