Luxury honeymoon destination: 'Take it easy' when seeing the sights of Venice
Newlyweds who have chosen Venice as their luxury honeymoon destination should take it easy when seeing the city's sights.
That is according to Tom Hall of travel guide specialists Lonely Planet, who advised couples to relax during their trip otherwise it will become a tiring experience.
He told the Guardian website: "Intersperse diving into St Mark's Square and Basilica, the Accademia and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection with simply strolling around, especially in the Dorsoduoro and Cannaregio districts.
"In the latter the Ca' d'Oro, a 15th-century house full of great art, and the strikingly different Jewish ghetto are wonderful, must-see sights."
Mr Hall added that the best cuisine can be discovered off the beaten track in bars and restaurants down alleyways or in obscure squares.
For that special meal, couples could head to the Corte Sconta in the Castello district which is one of the "best-regarded high-concept places" in the city.
