Luxury honeymoon destination: Enjoy the nightlife of Cancun

Newlyweds looking for their perfect luxury honeymoon destination could visit Cancun for its excellent nightlife, it has been claimed.

Victoria Gooch, a travel correspondent for the Daily Mail, labelled the Mexican city as the "Vegas-Del-Mar" due to its vast array of nightclubs and bars.

She wrote on the news provider's website: "Its creamy white sands are loaded with American chainstores flanking huge, luxury hotels and an array of super-clubs.

"Never mind going loco down in Acapulco: Cancun is where the party's at these days, with around three million visitors flocking here every year."

Ms Gooch added that the legendary Coco Bongos club in Cancun is rumoured to be coming to Las Vegas in the near future.

Holidaymakers can also find more relaxing areas of the city if they make their way down the famous Playa del Carmen coastline to Tulum.

The city is known as the Mayan Riviera and is now home to a range of luxury resorts, she added.
