Couples looking for their perfect luxury honeymoon destination will be able to stay in high class accommodation in South Africa, it has been claimed.

Lauri Lyons, a travel writer at the Huffington Post, expressed her belief that holidaymakers now have a wide range of luxury hotels to stay in following a large investment drive before the country hosted the World Cup last year.

She said: "Most of the country's infrastructure is extremely developed and therefore is equipped to provide Western tourists with all the creature comforts of home. Basically, you can experience Africa without roughing it.

"If you feel that you are past the stage of travelling via backpacking and youth hostels, South Africa offers a multitude of luxury adventure activities."

Ms Lyons added that guests can enjoy a range adventure activities such as embarking on a hot air balloon ride, visiting the Kimberlee diamond mines and take part in shark cage diving.
