Luxury family holidays: Enjoy adventure activities in Wellington

Britons on luxury family holidays in New Zealand will be able to take part in a number of adventure activities in Wellington, it has been claimed.

Former Doctor Who star Peter Davison recently visited New Zealand with his wife and children and revealed that those staying in the city of Wellington will not have to worry about entertaining the kids during their stay.

He wrote on the Daily Mail website: "The boys spent the weekend exploring Wellington Harbour.

"They learnt how to rock-climb, went swimming in the sea, bungee-jumped and gawped in amazement at the world's biggest colossal squid at Te Papa Museum."

Mr Davison added that the nearby special effects studio Weta Workshop, which worked on the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Narnia films, is well worth a visit.

Wellington is the capital of New Zealand but is only the third most populous in the country behind Auckland and Christchurch.
