Visit 'eclectic' Topkapi Palace on tailor made holidays in Istanbul

People taking luxury tailor made holidays to Istanbul should ensure there is time in their schedule to visit the "wonderfully eclectic" Topkapi Palace.

That is according to the Daily Telegraph, who - in a travel guide written by various journalists - deemed the ancient building to be one of the must-see attractions in the Turkish city.

"A wonderfully eclectic series of buildings set around pretty garden courtyards, the palace was the seat of government of the powerful Ottoman Empire and home to sultans, concubines, eunuchs and slaves," the writers noted.

"There are exhibits galore, too, from the famous Topkapi Dagger to a tooth of the prophet Mohammed."

According to the news provider, there are many different major attractions in the city, almost all of which are worth the time of people on tailor made holidays.

One shining example of these attractions is the Suleymaniye Camii, which is an "unmissable" complex of mosques.
