'Remarkable' Sri Lanka ideal for tailor made holidays
People planning to take a luxury tailor made holiday to the Indian subcontinent should consider paying a visit to "remarkable" Sri Lanka.
That is according to Sri Lanka Travel, which aims to promote travel and tourism to the Indian Ocean island nation, who noted that there are many different historical sites to visit.
"With a history that dates back over 2,000 years, Sri Lanka is home to some of the best preserved Asian monuments and showcases no fewer than eight Unesco World Heritage Sites, all remarkably preserved," the organisation noted on its website.
"To this day Sri Lanka's centuries old heritage lives on, in the culture and the way of life of the Sri Lankan people. The rich tapestry of cultural practices and beliefs … revives this Island nation's historic ties."
Sri Lanka is located just off the coast of the south-eastern Indian coast. It is surrounded by the bodies of water known as the Gulf of Mannar, the Palk Strait and, of course, the Indian Ocean.
