The Caribbean island nation of Cuba is ideal for people planning to take a luxury tailor made holiday, as it is ideal for people looking to take in 'beautiful' views of the ocean.

According to a journalist writing for travel magazine Wanderlust's website, the island is home to beaches that so tranquil and that are often named among the finest in the world.

"Stretching 1,250 kilometres east to west, Cuba is the Caribbean's largest island, and ringed by beautiful beaches and idyllic waters just like its neighbours Jamaica and the Caymans," the writer noted.

"But Cuba also has a political past that sets it quite apart from, well, anywhere else in the world."

This political past naturally includes the Fidel Castro- and Che Guevara-led revolution of 1959, but also the more distant history of attempted take-overs by Spain and the United States of America.

People planning a tailor made holiday might want to consider spending a week in Havana and a week in the paradisiacal coastal towns.
