The Copa del Rey (the King's Cup) is a sailing race held every year in Palma de Mallorca, it attracts yachtsmen and women from all over the world
Taking place between July 31st and August 6th, the 2011 race will represent the 30th time the competition has been held under the patronage of the Spanish Royal Family
Since the race was first held, the number of participants has doubled. The first King's Cup regatta was held in 1982, when 35 Spanish yachts and 15 from elsewhere took part.
