Luxury Mediterranean holiday villa: Easter in Spain is a 'highly moving atmosphere'

People planning their next luxury Mediterranean holiday villa break may wish to pay a visit to Spain this time next year, as the Easter period is one of huge celebration in the country.

According to the Spanish Tourist Office, a holiday to the Iberian country at this time of year will be full of "sound and colour".

"In Spain, Easter week is celebrated with a great deal of emotion. People take an active role in its events and traditions," the spokesperson said.

"By day and by night, the streets fill with the sound of drums, the colour of flowers and the art of religious sculptures that come together to produce a highly moving atmosphere."

Earlier this year, price comparison website Skyscanner announced the results of a survey that revealed Spain was the top destination for the next two months

The website suggested that this may be because people are using the long bank holiday weekends to get away from the United Kingdom and relax on a beach.
