Luxury honeymoon holidays: Sri Lanka is ideal for 'exquisite' luxury holidays

People planning luxury honeymoon holidays may wish to visit Sri Lanka as the country's beaches are "exquisite" for lounging around on.

That is according to award winning non-fiction author Philip Hoare, who travelled to the island nation off the coast of India for the Daily Telegraph.

In the article which followed his luxury holiday, the writer praised the "verdant island" and noted that there has recently been an increase in travel to region, due in part to the many opportunities to relax.

"[Sri Lanka] is experiencing a new tourist boom founded largely on its exquisite beaches, where one may spend weeks doing nothing but drinking lime sodas in the sun," he wrote.

The country of Sri Lanka offers a lot to couples of luxury honeymoon holidays. As well as the beautiful beaches, travellers can visit some of the island's luxury spas, or even learn how to scuba dive in the surrounding deep blue seas.
