Luxury honeymoon holidays: Dubrovnik's views are 'dazzling'
The historic city of Dubrovnik is ideal for people planning romantic luxury honeymoon holidays, as it offers some "dazzling" views.
That is according to Robert Reid, Lonely Planet's editor of United States travel, who wrote an article calling the Croatian city of Dubrovnik one of the "essential stops" for people travelling through Europe.
Mr Reid, who has written guidebooks for North America, Europe and south-east Asia, said that Dubrovnik starts to amaze travellers before their plane even touches down.
"You'll have to board a plane in order to be dazzled by the marble streets and red roofs of Dubrovnik," he said.
"By all means, first walk the city walls; the views over the town and sea are great. Explore the rest of the old town and take a seat at a cafe or along one of the beaches."
Dubrovnik is also home to many places which are ideal to get a cultural fix, such as Rector's Palace, which often hosts classical music concerts.
