Zermatt: A chic and boisterous town

There is no shortage of destinations when it comes to luxury skiing holidays, however, as a whole package, the Swiss resort of Zermatt is one of the most interesting.

According Angus Watson, writing in the Financial Times, when couples venture into Zermatt town itself they will find it to be "both chic and boisterous".

The newspaper also highlighted the fact that Zermatt is a car-free location, making the air even cleaner.

As well as having lots of fun sliding down the slopes, couples will find the whole experience of being high up in the mountains to be an invigorating one.

"The air feels cleaner in the mountains, food tastes better, there's more space, you sleep more deeply, hangovers are easier and the light seems filtered to enhance already stunning views," Mr Watson stated.

Among the many attractions visitors will want to see is the Glacier Palace, complete with ice tunnels for people to explore.
