New Zealanders are warm and welcoming people

One thing couples will come across on a daily basis during their New Zealand adventure is warm and friendly locals.

This is according to the latest edition of Lonely Planet's New Zealand Travel Guide, which praises the fact that "the average Kiwi will genuinely want you to have a really, really good time".

The guide also highlights Christchurch for its multicultural society and hails Wellington as a city that can "blow the cobwebs away".

In addition, the book touches upon New Zealanders' enthusiasm for rugby. Visitors will be able to engage in a friendly conversation about the sport with almost anyone.

Rugby is not the only sport which New Zealand is famous for and a trip to Queenstown will give couples a chance to sample some of the many adventure activities which Kiwis like to enjoy, including bungy jumping and heli-surfing.

According to Kip Brook, from Word of Mouth Media NZ, Queenstown is one of the world's best romantic-adventure destinations, with breathtaking scenery and a range of different activities perfect for couples looking for a romantic New Zealand experience.
